For over two decades, Learning Alliances has been at the forefront of educational services, dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of children and improving the quality of education for students across the United States and Puerto Rico. Since our establishment in 1997, we have forged partnerships with educators, school administrators, parents, and community members, forming a strong alliance focused on fostering excellence in education.

That's why we offer tailored Professional Development workshops, coaching sessions, and educational programs that address the specific requirements of our clients. We take pride in our extensive reach, serving over 3,000 schools and more than 30,000 teachers in both public and private sectors. Senior Management

Anthony "Tony" O'Donnell

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. O'Donnell embarked on his professional journey as a dedicated speech pathologist, laying the foundation for his impactful career. He established Independent Child Study Teams (ICST), a pioneering venture aimed at conducting comprehensive evaluations for students to identify their specific needs and formulate tailored Individual Educational Plans (IEPs). Recognizing the demand for enhanced educational support, Mr. O'Donnell expanded ICST's operations to include Title I and New Jersey 192-193 services, catering to students in parochial schools across New Jersey.

 

This expansion marked the birth of Educational In-Roads (EIR), a specialized division of ICST committed to delivering Title I products and services to students in 36 states. With a rich history of private-public partnerships, dating back to 1977, when Mr. O'Donnell founded ICST, his entrepreneurial spirit continued to thrive. In 1997, as ICST and EIR reached new heights, serving an impressive daily population of 36,000 children, Mr. O'Donnell seized the opportunity to establish Learning Alliances (LA).

 

Over the past two decades, Mr. O'Donnell has diligently cultivated LA into highly esteemed educational service companies, actively engaged in empowering approximately 20,000 students each day across the United States and Puerto Rico. This exceptional achievement speaks volumes about Mr. O'Donnell's unwavering commitment to providing quality educational solutions that make a tangible difference in the lives of students.

With an unwavering passion for education and an unwavering dedication to excellence, Mr. O'Donnell's

visionary leadership has propelled LA to the forefront of the industry, earning them a reputation as trusted partners in the pursuit of educational success. Through continuous innovation, strategic partnerships, and a relentless pursuit of student-centered solutions, Mr. O'Donnell and his companies have left an indelible mark on the field of education.

Anthony W. O'Donnell

Excecutive Vice President

Mr. O'Donnell leads the Senior Management team from the Learning Alliances Corporate Headquarters located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, and oversees the day-to-day activities of the company. 

James Mac Mahon

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Mac Mahon a certified public accountant is the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary Learning Alliances, LLC with responsibilities for internal and external financial reporting, banking relationships, and business insurance.

Laura Cheval

HR Manager, PHR, SHRM-CP

Laura heads the Human Resources and Payroll Department at IEP. She has over 20 years of experience in human resources and payroll with a strong focus on compliance. She recognizes that “employees” are the main resource within any company. She has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and is a member of SHRM National and the Morris County Council. Her passions include golf, travel, gardening and her family.

Laura Cheval

HR Manager, PHR, SHRM-CP

Mrs. Cheval leads the Human Resource and Payroll Department at IEP. She has over 20 years of HR and Payroll experience with a strong focus on compliance. She recognizes that “Employees” are the top resource within any company. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is a member of SHRM National as well as their Morris County New Jersey council.
